It’s been quite some time since I visited a DC exhibition (the last one being the Dawn of Superheroes Exhibition at the O2 in London) and it’s with great pleasure to announce that yet another Batman exhibition will be coming to our shores this summer.

The Batman Unmasked exhibition will begin in Manchester this summer as guests will experience the cinematic world of Batman like never before.
Instead of your stereotypical exhibition featuring props and costumes Batman Unmasked will allow guests to step onto some famous recreated sets for some wonderful photo ops.
The exhibition has been curated from the Warner Bros. archives and for those of you who are familiar with the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Hollywood you may recognise a thing or two on display.
Fans will get up close and personal to an extensive collection of artefacts from the original Michael Keaton Batman suit from the 1989 movie all the way up to The Batman, released in 2022 where Robert Pattison stepped into the role and surprised many of us.

The Depot Mayfield will be home to the exhibition on July 16 and will run until August 26 before heading to London’s Covent Garden from September 6 all the way through to November 3.
Celebrating the 85h anniversary of the caped crusader this exhibition will be a lovely blend of themed rooms, props and memorabilia and my inner nerd is already eager to witness it first hand.
The themed rooms within the experience will consist of Wayne Manor Library, The Batcave, Batman Heroes, The Joker’s Room, Arkham Maze, Rogue’s Gallery, Vehicle Bunker, an interactive space and finally the store.
It’s not just props and costumes on display though as a selection of original vehicles will also be on display from the movie including the Tumbler and Batpod from The Dark Knight along with the Batmobile and Batcycle from The Batman (2022).

One of the Batmobile’s from the Robert Pattison movie is actually on display proudly outside of the WB Hotel in Abu Dhabi, a piece of movie history parked right at the front entrance greeting every guest that arrives.
Batman Unmasked will also pay tribute to the franchise villains as there will be walkways paying homage to each of Gotham’s bad guys. Such items as Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy costume, a Harley Quinn costume worn by Margot Robbie and Jim Carrey’s Riddler outfit will be on display just to name a few.
For me I’m most excited to see anything worn by Heath Ledger and Batman Unmasked will have the infamous nurses uniform worn by Heath in the iconic scene where he just decides to blow up a hospital.

As the experience comes to an end guests will be able to enjoy a comic book and gaming area in addition to a Batman retail store which will be stocking special Batman 8th Anniversary items as well as some diehard classics.
Batman Unmasked looks to be great fun and estimated time spent in the exhibition is marked at 45 minutes but if you’re as big of a nerd as me it’s probably best to double that timescale.
For an idea of what the exhibition items are going to be like you can check out our DC Dawn of Super-Heroes exhibition review on our sister site Back to the Movies. The costumes, vehicles and space will be different but you get an idea of what the event is roughly going to be like.
The Depot Mayfield is a three minute walk from Piccadilly train station in Manchester and for tickets (they go on sale this week) and more information you can visit the official website HERE
