After leaving the business one year earlier, battle-scarred stuntman Colt Seavers springs back into action when the star of a big studio movie suddenly disappears.

As the mystery surrounding the missing actor deepens, Colt soon finds himself ensnared in a sinister plot that pushes him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.

With a soundtrack that makes you want to jump into a roll cage ridden car and jump across a ravine The Fall Guy already gets off to a good start introducing the movie with the kiss song ‘I was made for lovin you’.

Blood pumping before the first image hits my eyes on the screen The Fall Guy sweeps me away to a world of Hollywood movie making whilst delivering a beautiful film both visually and from paper to screen.

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have this palpable chemistry throughout which makes the rather copy and paste story we’ve seen all before all the more believable.

It’s a believable dynamic and they bounce off each other perfectly with expertly delivered comedic timing and this beautiful sense of love and underlying friendship.

David Leitch who helmed this movie is a former stunt performer and you can see that it was his mission to bring as many stunts as humanly possible to the fold but does so without making it feel like a stunt reel.

From easy to break bottles to dummy swords, car jumps and fire stunts there’s a nice range of dangerous stunts on display that immediately gives you a higher respect for those who put their bodies on the line to get the director the perfect shot for their film.

The plot is simple, superstar actor Tom Ryder (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) goes missing on his latest movie directed by first time director Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt).

After suffering an accident on set veteran stuntman Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) is in retirement but is tasked with locating Tom in order to save Jody (his love interests) movie.

What unravels is a mystery noir plot full of murder, backstabbing, two faced Hollywood entities and whilst we may have seen this all before it’s all done in such a unique environment and in such a brilliant way you almost forgive the copy and paste plot.

Seeing The Fall Guy in IMAX is a must, there’s no other way to watch a film like this.

Throw high-octane stunts together all on the big screen and you need IMAX to fully compliment what you’re witnessing with its beautifully big screen, incredible audio and tailor made surroundings to deliver the best on screen experience possible.

IMAX and The Fall Guy go together as well as Colt and Jody, they’re a matchmade in heaven and it absolutely deserves your attention.

The Fall Guy is the most fun I’ve had in the cinema this year, it deserves your attention, it appreciates those who work hard behind the scenes and see if you can wrap this one around your head.

Ryan Gosling is in a movie where he plays a stunt guy, whilst having stunt performers doing his stunts whilst being directed by a former stunt man.

It’s like stuntception!
